Do I need to pay for the training? |

No charge on training but you have to bear the cost of your living and travelling. |

Can I attach to more than one team within the period of my training? |

You can attach to more than one team only if you have indicate on your application with the approval of committee and supervisor. |

Please complete the training application form and email us the supporting documents for process in 2 months. |

What is the duration of the training? |

A: |
Subject to the agreement and supervisor. It can be fixable with the endorsement from the Visiting Scholar and Fellowship Committee. |
B. Visa

Do I need to apply for visa to Hong Kong? |
|
A: |
For training less than 1 month, you can come as an observer with your tourist visa.
For training of 1 month or longer, and you do not hold a Hong Kong Permanent Identify Card or an appropriate visa for staying in Hong Kong, you will need to apply for and obtain proper permission (e.g. training visa) for undertaking your engagement in Hong Kong. C. Accommodation

Do you provide accommodation during the period of stay? |

A: |
No accommodation will be provided in the hospital.
You can also book the hotel nearby with our assistance to enjoy the corporate price. The cost of a single room will be HK$800/night or above. The monthly rate will be around HK$18,000 – HK$25,000 per month. |

Can I come with my family? |
|
A: |
Yes, you will have to bear all cost of living.
Applicants admitted for training may bring in their spouse and unmarried dependent children under the age of 18 to the HKSAR under the prevailing dependant policy. Persons admitted or applying for admission for training will be the sponsors of his/her accompanying dependants to the HKSAR. An application for admission of a dependant may be favourably considered by the Hong Kong Immigration Department. (please refer to the immigration website below for details:

D. Wifi

Is free wifi service available in the hospital? |

We provide free wifi service within the office and hospital (1) 5/F Lui Che Woo Clinical Sciences Building and
(2) 1/F Li Ka Shing Specialist Outpatient Clinics (North Wing)
(3) 9/F Main Clinical Block and Trauma Centre
You may request on your arrival.

E. Medical License

Do I need to apply for the temporary medical license in Hong Kong? |
|
A: |
You are required to apply for and obtain registration "Limited Registration" with the Medical Council of Hong Kong if you would like to have clinical hand-on-training. The cost is HK$1,675. You will need to start to prepare the documents within 3 months before the application. We shall assist you for the application. |

Can I take leaves during my training period? |

A: |
You can take annual leaves if your training period is 3 months or above. |

Can I consult any family doctor while illness? |
|
A: |
You can consult the family doctor at our clinic in the University. Only if you are engaged as Visiting Scholar (honorary) in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. (training period for more than 4 weeks) |

Can I entry to the medical Library? |

A: |
For short term visit (below 4 weeks) – please make a request to the secretary and she will assist to apply a temporary library card for you.
For long term visit (4 weeks or above) – you will be able to entry to the medical library with your staff ID card.

What is the dressing code? |
|
A: |
- Clean white gown or clean uniform as instructed by team supervisor
- Staff card in a badge holder to facilitate staff identification.
- Hair must be clean, well groomed.
- Earring, if present, should be kept in a simple style.
- Shirt or T-shirt with collar.
- Shorts, slippers and sandals are not allowed.

No formal / fix allocated study area. However, you may visit the "Orthopaedic Learning Centre"(during office hour) and Library in the hospital (24 hours). |
