The feet are the foundation of our entire body, and problems in this region significantly limit the quality of life. Our team aims to relieve pain, restore function and renew hope through creating pain-free, functional feet that allow patients to walk with confidence.
The human foot is a masterpiece of
engineering and a work of art. - Leonardo Da Vinci
Clinical Team
Established in 1999 by Prof Leung Kim Hung, our Foot and Ankle subspecialty has evolved into a dynamic, forward-thinking team. Since 2018, Dr Samuel Ling has led the team alongside Dr Esther Chow and Dr Lucci Liyeung. We manage the full spectrum of foot and ankle pathologies, from emergencies, including Achilles tendon ruptures and ankle fractures, to elective conditions, such as hallux valgus, and complex wound management.
Research and Education
Our research unit focuses on Achilles tendon pathology, innovative surgical techniques, and regenerative wound technologies. With over 100 published papers and multiple research awards, we have significantly elevated our global standing. Since 2019, we have organised “FOOT-HK” an annual hands-on cadaveric workshop educating orthopaedic surgeons in foot and ankle arthroscopy. As a young, ambitious team, we are committed to advancing international knowledge while delivering exceptional care locally.
